GLP-1 Price Index
Last verified Jul 28, 2026 · July 2026 edition
This is the dataset behind the GLP-1 Cost Tracker: the published monthly list price for every legal way to get Wegovy, Zepbound, and Foundayo — savings card, self-pay, patient assistance, Medicare, and Medicaid — each figure carrying an as-of date and a link to its primary source. No other site maintains this. We take no money from providers or manufacturers — members fund the research.
Master Table
Every legal channel, priced and dated
Each row is one access channel. "Monthly list price" is the figure published by the source on its as-of date; ranges reflect dose or refill-timing tiers noted in the eligibility column. A price of "Plan-specific — no single published price" means the channel has no single posted number because the cost depends on your plan.
| Drug | Channel | Monthly list price | As-of date | Source URL | Eligibility / notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Semaglutide (Wegovy) | Wegovy savings card (commercial insurance) | $25/mo | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | Eligible commercial insurance only — Medicare, Medicaid and other government plans are excluded. Savings are capped at $100/month. |
| Tirzepatide (Zepbound) | Zepbound savings card (commercial insurance) | $25/mo | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | Commercial insurance only; applies to the single-dose pen. The savings card expires 12/31/2026 and caps annual savings at $1,300. |
| Foundayo (oral orforglipron) | Your plan copay + Lilly savings card | Plan-specific — no single published price | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | We could not verify a single published commercially-insured price for Foundayo — it depends on your plan and the live savings offer. |
| Semaglutide (Wegovy) | Wegovy self-pay (NovoCare) | $349/mo (0.25–2.4 mg pen) | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | Intro price is $199/mo for the first 2 months (0.25/0.5 mg), then $349/mo. The 7.2 mg pen is $399/mo; oral Wegovy self-pay starts at $149/mo. |
| Tirzepatide (Zepbound) | Zepbound self-pay (LillyDirect) | $299–$449/mo | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | You must refill within 45 days of delivery or the price reverts to $499–$699. Single-dose vials are $299; KwikPens are $399–$449 by dose. |
| Foundayo (oral orforglipron) | Foundayo self-pay (LillyDirect) | $149–$349/mo | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | $149/mo for 0.8 mg, rising to $349/mo for 14.5–17.2 mg. Some higher-dose offers depend on refill timing. |
| Semaglutide (Wegovy) | Novo Nordisk Patient Assistance Program | $0 | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | Uninsured with income limits only — not available if you have any commercial or government drug coverage. Application and approval are required before you receive medication. |
| Semaglutide (Wegovy); Tirzepatide (Zepbound); Foundayo (oral orforglipron) | Medicare GLP-1 Bridge | $50/mo | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | Zepbound is covered as the KwikPen only. Requires Part D; you can't already be getting a GLP-1 through Part D; excludes people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, moderate-to-severe sleep apnea, or fatty liver disease. The $50 copay does not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket cap. Runs July 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027. |
| Semaglutide (Wegovy); Tirzepatide (Zepbound); Foundayo (oral orforglipron) | Standard Part D (outside the Bridge) | Plan-specific — no single published price | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | If you qualify for one of these medical indications, this is not weight-loss coverage and different plan rules apply. |
| Semaglutide (Wegovy); Tirzepatide (Zepbound); Foundayo (oral orforglipron) | State Medicaid coverage | $0–low copay | Jul 28, 2026 | Source ↗ | Coverage is state-by-state and, where offered, requires prior authorization and BMI criteria. As of January 2026 only about 13 state Medicaid programs cover GLP-1s for weight loss. |
What Changed This Month
July 2026 — first edition baseline
This is the first edition of the GLP-1 Price Index, so every figure below is a newly established baseline (no prior month to compare against). From next month, this section will show each price that moved and one plain-English line on what it means for patients.
| Item | Old | New | What it means for patients |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wegovy self-pay pen (NovoCare) | — | $349/mo ($199/mo intro) | The cash price for the standard Wegovy pen is published directly by Novo Nordisk; the first two months run $199 before stepping up to $349. |
| Zepbound self-pay (LillyDirect) | — | $299–$449/mo | Lilly’s cash ladder starts at $299 for single-dose vials, but the price reverts to $499–$699 if you miss the 45-day refill window. |
| Foundayo self-pay (LillyDirect) | — | $149–$349/mo | The first oral GLP-1 sets the lowest brand self-pay entry point we could verify — $149/mo for the 0.8 mg starter dose. |
| Wegovy & Zepbound savings cards | — | $25/mo | Commercially insured patients can pay as little as $25/mo, but Medicare, Medicaid, and other government plans are excluded and savings are capped. |
| Medicare GLP-1 Bridge | — | $50/mo | A flat $50 copay path opened July 1, 2026 for eligible Part D members and runs through December 31, 2027; the copay does not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket cap. |
| Novo Nordisk Patient Assistance Program | — | $0 | The only verified $0 path — for uninsured patients under the income limit, with no other drug coverage. Approval is required before you receive medication. |
| State Medicaid coverage | — | $0–low copay (≈13 states) | Where a state Medicaid program covers GLP-1s for weight loss, cost is minimal — but as of January 2026 only about 13 states do, usually with prior authorization. |
Methodology
How this index is built and verified
Every price in this index is a list price published by a primary source: the manufacturer’s own self-pay and savings pages (Novo Nordisk / NovoCare and Eli Lilly / LillyDirect), each program’s official terms, and government coverage pages (CMS for the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, and KFF’s state Medicaid tracking). We do not use aggregator estimates, discount-card screenshots, or unverifiable figures. "Verified" means one of us opened the source on the as-of date shown and confirmed the number against it; any figure we cannot confirm is flagged and left out rather than guessed. We re-check every source at least monthly, and sooner when a program announces a change. These are list prices — your actual out-of-pocket cost can differ with insurance, eligibility, dose, and refill timing, all noted in the eligibility column.
